Dear Yogis and Yoginis,
It is my great pleasure to invite you to a unique and transformational yoga teacher training program!
During this four week course, you will imbibe and embody all the necessary skills to become a yoga professional, community leader, and inspired individual.
While I now live in Boulder, Colorado, from 1999-2008, I had the good fortune to make my home in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
A cosmopolitan city that maintains the intimacy of a village, Chiang Mai attracts healers, artists, and sages from all over the world, making it an ideal venue for us to come together in the spirit of yoga.
We all are called to this noble profession in different ways and at different times.
My calling came at the age of 18 when I took my first yoga class. While I had been steeped in prayer and dance from a very early age, something new awakened in me during that class and I knew then and there that I would become a yoga teacher.
After much dedicated practice, four years later I did just that. Since then, I have taught over 3,000 students in over a dozen countries and have gone on to become a Yoga Alliance accredited teacher trainer (E-RYT 500).
I have completed trainings with some of the greatest yoga teachers of our time: Richard Freeman, John Friend, Gurmukh Khaur Khalsa, Shiva Rea, Gary Kraftsow, and Sarah Powers, and many more. Other strong inspirations on my path have been my countless hours on my meditation cushion, both on retreat and at home; master yogini, Sofia Diaz, and her ecstatic revelation of the divine dance between masculine and feminine; and Sri Swamini Mayatitananda Saraswati’s lucid and grounded teachings on Ayurveda.
For me, yoga is so much more than what I teach.
It is a daily reminder and guidance for who I am and who I aspire to be. Over the years, yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda together have been the guiding lights in my life. My participation with them has brought my own self-healing, personal and professional empowerment, and a sense of greater connection to the world.
Truly, there are no limits to where this practice can take us.
As my spiritual teacher, ShantiMayi, often advises, “The world is balancing on the head of a pin.” By this she means, it is time to take bigger and bolder steps for personal and global change.
The world needs more compassionate, skillful, courageous, and creative leaders who are firmly rooted in the integrity, freedom, and truth of their own hearts. This training creates a platform for you to emerge as such a leader.
Teaching yoga is one of the most challenging, rewarding, and profound endeavors that one can choose. It is not a commitment to be taken lightly, yet I have no doubt that, if you are reading this, you have what it takes to make such a commitment. This training reaches across all aspects of what it means to practice and teach yoga—both on and off the mat.
I believe that yoga teachers need to master so much more than physical postures.
We need to be living masters. We need to walk the talk.
Please join me for this auspicious event. I look forward to walking with you into a brighter, healthier, more joyous world!
With a deep bow,

Sara Avant Stover

Course Overview
By steeping yourself in conscious community, continuous practice, and the larger spiritual vortex of Chiang Mai, Thailand, you will empower your body as your temple and trust more deeply in the true teacher within your own heart. In harmony with yourself and life around you, you will relate to and realize these ancient and transformative teachings of ultimate freedom in ever-new and deepening ways.
One of the many things that sets this program apart from others is our emphasis on self-inquiry.
Meditation and personal practice, interspersed with guided classes and a diverse, integrated curriculum, blends tradition with innovation, solitude with community, and reflection with sharing. This, we believe, gives you a platform to truly get to know yourself better, serving as the source for your own authentic and inspiring teachings.
This course is suitable for committed yogis and yoginis who aspire to teach yoga, deepen their personal practice, and impact positive change in the world. It is also suitable for yoga professionals who seek further expansion and refinement.
By the end of these four weeks, you will be able to incorporate postures, breath awareness, meditation, philosophy, inquiry, safe biomechanics, and an attitude of service into creative, adaptive, and inspiring teachings. You will leave transformed and ready to step boldly into the seat of passionate service—as a yoga teacher, role model, and an inspired individual living a more conscious life.

GUEST FACULTY – Kimberly Johnson
Kimberly Johnson has been immersed in the study of yoga for over fifteen years and has been teaching for the last ten. She teaches in the lineage of Krishnamacharya having deeply explored Viniyoga, Iyengar Yoga, and Ashtanga Yoga.
Her greatest yoga influences are Richard Freeman, Rodney Yee, Erich Schiffman, Gabriella Giubilaro and Trish O’Reilly. She enjoys guiding students to an experience of their own wisdom through the path of self-inquiry. She loves all aspects of yoga and is continuously awed by the power of asana, pranayama, and chanting, eagerly sharing the gems she finds.
Kimberly believes that the heart of this practice lies in a continual return to self-inquiry. During her anatomy intensive, Ellen will give teacher trainees new tools to communicate the benefits of Yoga. Ellen studied yoga intensively with Ana Forrest for 12 years and designed this class specifically to address the needs of Yoga Teacher Trainees. This class satisfies the 20-hour Anatomy requirement for the National Yoga Alliance.

About Chiang Mai
"One of the many questions Thais may ask a foreigner visiting Thailand is ‘Have you been to Chiang Mai yet?’ underscoring the feeling that Chiang Mai is a keystone of any journey to Thailand". |
| |
| Joe Cummings, The Lonely Planet |
In 2005, Chiang Mai was rated by Travel & Leisure Magazine as "The Fifth Best City in the World". Located in northern Thailand, about 700 km/450 miles northwest of Bangkok, Chiang Mai is renowned for its delicate balance of culture and modernity.
A cosmopolitan crossroads, the City boasts an eclectic mélange of more than 300 temples standing beside the latest technology. Outdoor enthusiasts appreciate the city’s surroundings: fertile mountains, valleys, rivers, forests, and pleasant winter temperatures.
Because of the abundance of high quality amenities at low prices—not to mention the friendly and laid-back ambiance—visitors in Chiang Mai often stay longer than planned.
Thai massage, exotic fruits, delicious foods, spas, and quality arts and handicrafts, are a few of the treats appreciated by many. There is no doubt that Chiang Mai’s charm is irresistible.
